Dr. Maurer grew up in Tucson, Arizona and came to Flagstaff in 1998 to attend Northern Arizona University. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Microbiology in 2003 and moved on to the University of Southern California where he was accepted to dental school. Dr. Maurer was awarded several accolades for outstanding achievement in Chemistry throughout his academics. Upon graduating from USC in 2007, Dr. Maurer traveled through Australia before returning to Flagstaff in 2008 and joining the team of providers at Flagstaff Dental Arts. Shelby Gonzales

My husband and I both have families native to Flagstaff. So, I grew up here and graduated from Sinagua High School. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from Northern Arizona University in 2013 and began working for Flagstaff Dental Arts that summer. The following year, I married my high school sweetheart and we now have a beautiful daughter, an active little boy and a baby girl who are so much fun and keep us on our toes! We are very involved with our family and enjoy spending time outdoors.
Carly Chancellor

My name is Carly and I am thrilled to be part of the team here at Flagstaff Dental Arts! Originally from Georgia, I traveled West and spent some time in Colorado and Montana before ending up in Flagstaff. I fell in love with Arizona and decided not to go any further! It’s been an honor to be a part of this great community since 2005 and also an NAU alumni since 2014 when I graduated from hygiene school. Even though my husband and I grew up in the same part of Georgia, we met here, fell in love and got married. Together we love to ski, travel, go boating, hiking, camping, biking… if it’s outdoors, we like to spend time doing it! We have a sweet dog named Willie who joins us on our adventures!
Melissa Crawford

My name is Melissa. I was born in Phoenix, Arizona, but have had the privilege of calling Flagstaff home for most of my life. I’m blessed with an amazing fiancé, Colby, who is not just my partner but also my very best friend. Together, we have two beautiful daughters, Riley and Emma. Some of my favorite things include spending quality time with my family, savoring a nice glass of red wine – especially if it’s Barolo – riding my Peloton, relishing delicious food, and embracing each day’s opportunities. I spent many years working as a dental assistant, a job I truly cherished. Taking my career to the next level, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from Northern Arizona University in 2019. With over 17 years of dental experience, I’m incredibly passionate about what I do. My greatest joy comes from educating people about their oral health and bringing smiles to their faces. I’m immensely grateful to be a part of Flagstaff Dental Arts and to have the opportunity to share my passion with all of you!
Sarah Marsitto
Office Manager
I am from Minnesota but grew up in Phoenix and attended NAU after high school. My Associates Degree is in Interpreting for the Deaf which I acquired through Phoenix College in 1996. I have been in Flagstaff permanently since 1999, went into dentistry in 2001 and have been with Flagstaff Dental Arts since 2010. I have 2 daughters who are just beginning to live independent lives and explore where life is going to take them. I enjoy a wide variety of activities such as traveling, water sports, hiking, volunteering and performing arts.
Zoe Strayer
Back Office Assistant
My name is Zoë and I was born and raised in Flagstaff. Flagstaff Dental Arts was my first job and I have been here since 2012. I graduated from High School in the Spring of 2015 and enjoy my full time position here as Dr. Maurer’s assistant. Outside of the office, I love to read, sketch and travel. I am very involved with activities in my church and also play the violin. I have enjoyed traveling internationally a little bit and also in the USA to places like New York!

My name is Selma Grace and I was born and raised in Flagstaff. I graduated from Flagstaff High School in 2020 and currently attend NAU where I am working towards a Bachelors in Strategic Communication with an emphasis in Advertising & Marketing. For my Junior year, I have had the great opportunity to study abroad in the UK and have completely loved, and am so grateful for, my experience there! I began working at Flagstaff Dental Arts in 2020 and plan to do so through my years in Flagstaff at NAU. I definitely stay busy with work and school but when I get some free time I enjoy watching movies, playing the piano, reading and listening to music.

Hello, I’m Amanda. I’ve been working here at Flagstaff Dental Arts since 2021. I was born in Los Angeles, California and raised here in Flagstaff. I have four beautiful, amazing kiddos. When I’m not working, I’m spending time with them and love every minute of it! Our most favorite thing to do together is watch Harry Potter while eating Chinese food!
